Rotary Spray

Dubois Equipment is proud to offer the “State of the Art” in Flatline Finishing equipment for your consideration.

The 5230 is an advanced robotized spray finishing enclosure, the standard spray system has four to eight rotating arms, each with a programmable spray gun that can be angled and cycled.  The control system produces precise arc patterns in repetitive and overlapping waves.  This allows for perfectly wrapped edges and properly filled recesses, producing much higher quality finishes than conventional automated finishing systems.

The Dubois spray system starts by defining the actual size and shape of each part, as it passes under a scanner. The parts data goes into a computer, which follows the path and shape of each individual part. It takes into account the speed of the part on the conveyor and the speed of the guns rotating around the shaft.  The computer activates each gun as it goes over the part to be sprayed.

The 5230 is based on a principle, which is fundamentally superior to reciprocating action.  By using a fully rotating head with guns that track across the width of the conveyor and equipped with up to eight guns, the system accurately applies coatings to the parts. The speed of the line and the rate of rotation can be varied so as to achieve optimum levels of quality.  These adjustments enable the 5230 to achieve feed speeds of more than 30f/min.

Dubois, with a clear awareness of the tightening regulations in this area, has also paid close attention to the environmental performance of the system.  At the heart of this is the design of the though-feed conveyor belt which is comprised of a multilayer polymer belt manufactured specifically for this purpose.  An integrated extraction, with a consequent high airflow down at the edge of the belting, means that the usual fog, which appears in automatic spray cabins, is avoided-along with contamination of work surfaces.

Waste material is removed from the belting by the combination of a scraping blade mechanism and a solvent bath, through which the belting passes automatically.  The combination of a non stick proprietary belting and medium durometer urethane scraper means that the especially strong conveyor sustains no damage and it returns fully cleaned for the next working cycle.  The recovered finishing material drains through the stainless trough into a collecting bucket where it can be transferred to a drum for eventual re-use. The 5230 protects workers and their workplace as well.
